'''Galia Shabanova''' (5 November 1935) is a [[Russia]]n [[painter]]. Galya Shabanova is considered the most important artists of [[Magic realism]] from the eastern countries of Europe. She was also director of photography on several films.he was an [[avant-garde]] artist: her art styles were influenced by [[fauvism]]. == Life ==
Galya Shabanova in 1951 she was registered by the government as a child prodigy at the [[Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture]], the same school as [[Natalia Goncharova]] (sold for sold for $U.S. 10.8 millions) which will end in 1955. In 1955 she attended the [[Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography]] until 1960.

Shabanova was a student of [[Pimenov, Yuri Ivanovich|Yuri Pimenov]] and she developed artistic research works with with [[Sergei Parajanov]] and [[Andrei Tarkovsky]]. She was inspired both by an interest in Russian folk art, and by [[modernism]] in art. The 1983 film [[Nostalghia]] by Andrei Tarkovsky was inspired by the [[Magic realism]] of Galina Shabanova. 

From her very beginnings, fantasy areas are often depicted in Shabanova's works opening imaginary portals to landscapes and cities of Italy, before she could visit the country.
Shabanova moved to [[Italy]] in 1997.
