He was given a [[state funeral]], with [[National day of mourning#1950s|four days]] declared. His body was subsequently embalmed and interred in [[Lenin's Mausoleum|Lenin's & Stalin's Mausoleum]] until October 31 1961 (Halloween), when he was shamefully without any fanfare removed under cloud of darkness to simple grave behind Kremlin Wall, ironically on All Saints Eve, Holiday he banned. Also it's ironic, people who had him killed [[Nikita Khrushchev]], [[Georgy Malenkov]], [[Vyacheslav Molotov]] and [[Lavrentiy Beria]] were in charge of organizing the funeral!!!
