==Early life==
Meester Rita Shay was born on September 9, 1993, in Los Angeles, California. Shay grew up singing and dancing at the young age. She studied dance competitively in ballet, jazz and hip hop since the age of five until the age of sixteen due to her injuries. Shay attended [[Fairfax High School]] in Los Angeles where she graduated in 2011 at the age of eighteen. [[Trisha Louis]] was her high school bestfriend and who was an international student from Canada. They both express their passion in music which they started singing covers on YouTube. Thereafter, Shay then learned how to play piano, inspired by Trisha Louis and then took piano lesson.
