This presentation and tutorial is about the '''WikiProject [[Personal acquaintances]]''' and aims to 1.) help contributors to understand the sense and benefit of it and 2.) to show them how to participate and spread the idea.

The [[m:Personal acquaintances|Personal acquaintances project]] was started in the german language Wikipedia [https://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Pers%C3%B6nliche_Bekanntschaften&oldid=41618624 in 2008] by the name of "''Wikipedia:Persönliche Bekanntschaften''". Meanwhile it has been translated into eight languages and spread to over [[toollabs:pb/beta/users/|1,870 participating Wikimedians]]. One purpose is seen in the possibility to identify contributors not being sock-puppets; another means is bringing contributors together to gather in real life and to improve the social benefits for Wikipedians' culture.

The session will be in English and depending on the listeners also in german, french and (little) italian languages (presumably some more by fellow helping Wikipedians).
