For creatures in Resident Evil 4, see List of Resident Evil 4 creatures. ==Resident Evil== ===Zombie=== A zombie refers to any person who has been infected with the T-Virus and turned into a reanimated corpse. The incubation period for the virus varies depending on how strong the person's immune system is. This can be a week in some cases though it is generally within a few hours, sometimes even minutes. The most notable symptoms prior to mutation is extreme paleness and itchiness. A zombie has lost all powers of reasoning and is driven by instinct. A zombie can be defeated by severely damaging the central nervous system or extreme muscle and bone deterioration. However, there are also rare 'hyper zombies' (not to be confused with Crimson Heads) that will approach their prey very quickly and are very resistant to injury. A zombie will continue to chase its prey even after losing limbs or the lower half of its body. Other zombies will lay dormant on the ground, but will bite anything that comes close. Some zombies will pretend to be dead on the ground, only to rise up after a predetermined period has passed. A zombie will sometimes vomit stomach acid onto a person. A zombie can also mutate into a Crimson Head. * Appears in: all games except Resident Evil 4. ===Cerberus or Zombie Dog=== A Cerberus or Zombie Dog is a Doberman that has been infected with the T-Virus. These dogs usually have parts of their internal organs and rib cage partially exposed. Although the terms Cerberus and Zombie Dog are usually used interchangeably, there is a difference between how they were created, with the former being intentionally created and the latter accidentally. A Cerberus was used as a subject by Umbrella to test the effects of the T-Virus. They were given the code number MA-39 and were named Cerberus after the mythological three-headed guardian of Hades. They were seen in the Arklay Research Facility (in Resident Evil) and running loose in the Arklay forest area. Several were also being transported within the Ecliptic Express (in Resident Evil 0) inside the train's Freight Car. Zombie Dogs were created through accidental exposure to the T-Virus as a result of a viral outbreak. The Zombie Dogs seen in Raccoon City (in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis) were police dogs that ate contaminated dog food and became zombies. The Zombie Dogs in Rockfort Island Military Training Facility (in Resident Evil Code: Veronica) were military dogs used by Umbrella's Special Forces. Of these, most only experience skin necrosis, exposing their musculature. Aggression is also increased, making them exceedingly dangerous. * Appears in: Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil (Original PSX and Sega Saturn versions, Deadly Silence and GameCube remake), Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Resident Evil Outbreak, Resident Evil Outbreak File #2, Resident Evil Survivor, Resident Evil Survivor 2, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. ===Crow=== <!-- Unsourced image removed: --> During the initial viral outbreak in the Arklay Mountains, as well as in the later outbreak in Raccoon City, most of the crows were immediately infected with the T-Virus after eating an infected creature. An infected crow is larger than a regular crow and will immediately attack any living creature that wanders into its territory. Also, an infected crow is not as sensitive to loud noises as their regular counterparts. * Appears in: Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil (Original PSX and Sega Saturn versions, Deadly Silence and GameCube remake), Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Resident Evil: Outbreak, Resident Evil: Outbreak File #2, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. Also appears in Resident Evil 4 but does not attack, however if shot will reward you with money, health items, grenades or ammo. ===Wasp=== Wasps thriving in the Arklay Research Center's Residence, that have grown to a huge size thanks to the viral outbreak. They are no different from a normal wasp except for the size, but they do build a large hive in the mansion. Their stings are strong enough to penetrate bone, and the venom can kill in minutes if not treated. * Appears in: Resident Evil (Original PSX and Sega Saturn versions, Deadly Silence and GameCube remake), Resident Evil Outbreak and Resident Evil Outbreak File #2. ===Giant Spider=== There have been several spider-based B.O.W.s (Bio Organic Weapons) created as a result of Umbrella's experimentations with the T-Virus. Common characteristics between these creatures are their abnormally large size and their ability to spit venom. The first were the Web Spinners, born in the Arklay Research Facility (in Resident Evil). These spiders lost their ability to spin webs due to their increase in size. However, they still retain their ability to crawl over walls and ceilings and will leave behind a swarm of baby spiders when killed. The Black Tiger is a type of Web Spinner that has undergone further mutation. It is twice the size of a regular Web Spinner and has the ability to spin webs. The spider-based B.O.W.s developed in the Umbrella Management Training Facility (in Resident Evil 0) were known as Giant Spiders. They are similar to the Web Spinners. The term Giant Spider is also used for the infected spiders in Raccoon City's sewers that are not B.O.W.s, but were infected by the viral outbreak. These spiders were also seen in the corridors of the St. Michael Clock Tower (in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis) and around the Umbrella experiment facility (in Resident Evil Outbreak). The Black Widows are B.O.W.s that were developed based on data collected from the Giant Spiders in Raccoon City and as their name suggests, they were developed by implanting the T-Virus into black widow spiders. They were sent to Rockfort Island (in Resident Evil Code: Veronica) for training purposes. However, one of the Black Widows was transferred to the Antarctic Facility and mutated into the Giant Black Widow as a result of the environment change. Like Web Spinners, the Giant Black Widow will release its offspring upon death. * Appears in: Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil (Original PSX and Sega Saturn versions, Deadly Silence and GameCube remake), Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, Resident Evil: Outbreak, Resident Evil Outbreak: File #2, Resident Evil: Survivor, Resident Evil Survivor 2: Code Veronica, Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. In Resident Evil 4, as an easter egg you can find several baby spiders that can be splattered by knife or gunshot. ===Chimera=== <!-- Unsourced image removed: --> A Chimera (which received its name from the mythical Greek creature) is a B.O.W. that was created by inserting fly DNA and the T-Virus into human tissue. They were being manufactured inside the Arklay Research Facility's basement lab and adopted that section of the facility as their habitat during the Mansion incident. Aside from their fly-like appearance, the Chimera's most notable characteristics is their ability to walk over walls and ceilings. They usually use the air ducts to travel from one part of the lab to the other and attack with their claw-like limbs. The Chimera was the only other artificially produced B.O.W., besides the Hunters and Tyrant, that was created through genetic manipulation. Unlike those two, research on the Chimeras never went any further than the experimental models in the Arklay facility, as they were deemed a failure. Their wings were too small to allow them to fly, and they lacked a fully developed exoskeleton. Even though they showed signs of notable resilience, their intelligence was little more than that of an insect and mass production was never considered. These creatures dissect other living things, as mentioned in a file from Resident Evil remake. * Appears in: Resident Evil (Original PSX and Sega Saturn versions, Deadly Silence and GameCube remake). <br clear="all"/> ===Hunter=== Hunters are bipedal reptilian creatures with large claws and teeth, and are noted for their loud shriek. They are actually B.O.W.s designed by the Umbrella Corporation by combining a fertilized human ovum with reptilian DNA and then implanting the T-Virus into the resulting creature. The original Hunters (or the Alpha models, as they have been retroactively coined) appeared in Resident Evil. A Hunter is fast, agile, resistant to damage, and capable of various deadly claw attacks, including instantly killing the player by decapitation. As a result, the Hunters have become one of the most infamous creatures in the series. Several kinds of Hunters have appeared throughout the series. Making an appearance in Resident Evil: Dead Aim, a report states that a small sub-breed of Hunters, the Elite, apparently created through fusion of the T-Virus and G-Virus strains, is better than the average Hunter but are used primarily as 'display models' to impress possible buyers. Appears only in Resident Evil: Dead Aim. * Appears in: Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil (Original PSX and Sega Saturn versions, Deadly Silence and GameCube remake), Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Resident Evil Survivor, Resident Evil Survivor 2, Resident Evil Outbreak, Resident Evil Outbreak File #2, Resident Evil: Dead Aim. Hunter (Resident Evil) ===Crimson Head=== A Crimson Head is a type of zombie (officially named the V-ACT by Umbrella). After the T-Virus infects a human being, it causes a decline in brain activity. Should the new zombie be incapacitated, after a time its tissue regenerates. The T-Virus causes further necrosis and terrible blood seepage, giving the zombie its crimson skin, small claws, increased resistance to firearms, slightly increased intelligence and a more aggressive attitude. Capable of running and jumping, a Crimson Head presents a significant threat. The process is only halted by incinerating or decapitating the fallen zombie, thereby destroying any possibility for regeneration and mutation. If the Crimson Head is killed, it will no longer resurrect itself. * Appears in: Resident Evil (GameCube remake)and Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles And Resident Evil: Extinction ===Plant 42=== Plant 42 is a large plant infected with the T-Virus, and it was part of the experiment on botanical subjects by Umbrella researcher Henry Sarton. With a massive flower-like nucleus protected by distorted petals and extremely powerful vines, Plant 42 grew to invade the residence, using its roots to feed on the water in the Aqua Ring beneath it. As noted in a chemistry report lying around in the residence, the plant is vulnerable to a particular chemical, named V-Jolt or UMB Nº20. Exposing the roots of the plant to this chemical dries them up and weakens it considerably. * Appears in: Resident Evil (Original PSX version, Deadly Silence, and GameCube remake), Outbreak And Outbreak File #2, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. ===Yawn=== <!-- Unsourced image removed: --> The Yawn is a snake-based B.O.W. that was originally a specimen that escaped from the laboratory and grew to huge proportions as a result of exposure to the T-Virus. It got its name from the lab's researchers due to the fact that it appears to be yawning before swallowing its prey. Its fangs inject a potent venom that can only be treated with a serum found in the mansion's medical storage room. If the wound is not treated in time, the victim will be immobilized and eventually killed by the poison. In Resident Evil: Deadly Silence, Yawn reappears in the same room where players earlier battled Plant 42. Unlike earlier, Yawn now has thicker scales, making it invulnerable to damage except for its soft underbelly and mouth. * Appears in: Resident Evil (Original and Sega Saturn versions, Deadly Silence, GameCube remake), Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. ===Adder=== A small snake that was not mutated extensively by the T-Virus, and that holds none of the characteristics of more enhanced B.O.W.s, such as Yawn. It has a poisonous bite, in addition to being small and hard to hit. * Appears in: Resident Evil (Original PSX version, Deadly Silence, and GameCube remake). ===Neptune=== <!-- Unsourced image removed: --> Neptune, named after the Roman god of the sea, is a B.O.W. that was created by implanting the T-Virus into a great white shark. It was given the development code of Fi-3 and was created specifically to test the effects of the virus on a sea creature. The creature was accompanied by two smaller offspring. During the viral outbreak in the facility, Neptune and its spawn were released from their water tanks by a scientist, who had gone mad, which flooded the entire Aqua Ring. Two Neptunes swam in the river bordering the Raccoon University; precisely where they came from is unknown. Although these two were almost certainly killed when Raccoon City was destroyed it is unknown if any more were in the river that managed to get outside the quarantine zone. The fact that the sharks were swimming in freshwater is apparently a product of their T-Viral infection. * Appears in: Resident Evil (Original PSX and Sega Saturn versions, Deadly Silence and GameCube remake), Resident Evil Outbreak, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. ===Tyrant=== Tyrant (Resident Evil) ===Lisa Trevor=== <!-- Deleted image removed: --> Lisa Trevor Lisa was the second person to be infected with the Progenitor Virus (the first being her mother, Jessica Trevor). She was the daughter of George Trevor, who built the Mansion in the Arklay Forest for Spencer. When Albert Wesker and William Birkin began work on Lisa they mutated her severely but after injecting her with the NE-Parasite, the G-Virus was created in her body. After this she was deemed a failure but because of the constant viral injections could not be disposed of. She prefers to use the metal shackles she was restrained in to beat creatures and humans. *Appears in Resident Evil (GameCube remake only). ==Resident Evil 2== ===Licker=== The creature got its name from its most distinguishing characteristic, its long sharp tongue which it uses to attack its prey. Its brain and musculature are exposed. They do not have eyes and have to rely on their acute sense of hearing to detect prey. Lickers are quadrupedal and can climb walls. Lickers are created when a zombie is allowed to mutate further as a result of the T-Virus infection, and can be considered the next stage of mutation of a human host after the 'crimson head' stage. In addition to normal Lickers, there were also Enhanced Lickers located in Umbrella's Underground Research Facility in Raccoon City. These had a greater resistance and attack power than the regular Lickers, are green in color and have larger claws. They are more agile, and tend to attack in groups. Enhanced Lickers also possess more developed senses that allow them to find their prey without first hearing movement. * Appears in: Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil Survivor, Resident Evil Survivor 2, Resident Evil Outbreak, Resident Evil Outbreak File #2. ===Cockroaches=== These insects appear very rarely. One kind simply swarm around the area and bite other creatures. The others are spawned from a sewer grate and fly around biting at creatures. * Appears in: Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil: Survivor. ===Ivy/Poison Ivy=== <!-- Unsourced image removed: --> Ivy monsters are the results of Umbrella experiments on plants, mostly derivative from the Plant 42 experiment. They are bipedal green plants with arm-like vines and a large orange flower for a 'head'. Their main method of attack is to whip their target with their vines. They can also attack at range by spitting acid. If players get too close, the plant will grab them with their vines and spit acid over their bodies. In some cases, the monster may appear to be dead, but will still whip players who walk too closely. Should the player choose to release a gas called P-Epsilon into the lab, Ivies are enhanced and become Poison Ivies. While the gas weakens other B.O.W.s and was designed to help suppress escaped subjects, it strengthens these plant monsters. Poison Ivies have slightly different coloration than their counterparts and are physically tougher. The most notable difference is that the acid they spit is now poisonous. * Appears in: Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil: Survivor. ===Moths=== <!-- Unsourced image removed: --> A moth, enlarged due to prolonged exposure to the T-Virus. It cannot fly due to its abnormal growth and increased weight. It is nested in the security room, and just outside the room where the Baby Moths are, which can fall down and cause minor damage. The moth's main attacks are to spray their enemy with poisonous powder or to charge. The moths in Resident Evil: Code Veronica in the Antarctic Research facility, also have a poison powder attack and they can lay eggs on a target's back which stay on until they hatch and cause damage. In Survivor, only two moths appear in the game and are smaller than the ones in Raccoon City. * Appears in: Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil: Survivor, Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Resident Evil Outbreak. ===G-Larvae=== <!-- Unsourced image removed: --> William Birkin, in his G-Mutant stages, reproduces by implanting a parasitic organism into a human by regurgitating a larva that burrows into the body of a suitable host and grows. It will then try and transform the host into a G-type mutant. This will only be successful if the DNA of the host is similar to Birkin's or the G-Carrier. If it is not suitable, it will exit the body forcibly, and further mutate into a large, massively deformed creature similar to that of a human and a G-Carrier. All the mutants can reproduce at an alarming rate and attack in a similar manner, such as spitting acid, ramming, swinging its claws, and biting. When they die, due to their mollecular instability they dissolve and break down. * Appears in: Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil Outbreak. ===Alligator=== During the viral outbreak in Raccoon City, survivors Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield encountered an alligator that mutated to a huge size as a result of T-Virus exposure. It uses the garbage dump inside the sewers as its habitat and source of food. Infected alligators were also seen during the viral outbreak in Sheena Island. Like the one in Raccoon City, these were not deliberately created B.O.W.s, but accidents. An alligator was also found in the 'Wild Things' scenario of Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 (referred to as Gnaw in the game's bonus materials), swimming in its zoo habitat that the survivors had to cross. It is assumed that this was an accidental creation when the T-Virus infected the zoo. Although the virus did not change its physical appearance or size from that an uninfected alligator, it did improve its aggression. * Appears in: Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil Survivor, Resident Evil Outbreak File #2. ===G (William Birkin)=== William's first form kept most of his human features. His upper torso increased in muscle mass and his right arm became disproportionately large, muscular and clawed. The shoulder had a giant eye. William's second form strayed further away from human form. The eye on William's shoulder became larger and more prominent. His human face and part of his arm shifted to the creature's left side. The right arm became even larger and giant talons sprouted from his right hand. William's third form had all but lost human features. William's original face was visibly fading away into the creature's abdomen. The creature's left hand now had talons like those of the right. William had sprouted two smaller fully functional arms that also possess talons. The creature had also begun to develop an eye on its thigh. William's fourth form had him on all fours. The creature's head had elongated to accommodate a circular mouth surrounded by row upon row of spike-like teeth. This form is extremely agile and is capable of leaping and moving at great speeds. William's fifth stage was a shapeless blob of flesh, tentacles, spikes, organs and appendages. This creature had a mouth surrounded by rows of spike-like teeth. William's fifth and final form had nearly liquid-like properties and the entire area of its face is razor-sharp teeth. In this stage, William also had tentacles that can be used to grab and draw in prey. * Appears in: Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil Outbreak. ==Resident Evil 3: Nemesis== ===Brain Sucker=== The Brain Sucker is a relative of the Drain Deimos. These creatures mainly differ from Drain Deimos by their means of attack and their double heads. Brain Suckers run at their victims and try to latch on to the head in order to devour the brain. During this attack, they may also inject poison into their prey. They appear to be an evolution of the Chimera. * Appears in: Resident Evil 3. <!-- Unsourced image removed: --> ===Drain Deimos=== Created accidentally by uncontrolled merging of several insectoid creatures into one. They attack by using the multiple arms to snare prey and use their powerful mandibles to bite the victim. They move around by climbing walls and ceilings. They appear to be an evolution of the Chimera. * Appears in: Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil Survivor 2. ===Gravedigger=== <!-- Image with unknown copyright status removed: --> A huge worm-like creature. Apparently exposed to massive amounts of the T-Virus, the worm has mutated to enormous size. It retains the ability to burrow underground, and it prefers a subterranean environment, although it will surface if hunger overwhelms its natural instincts. It has also developed four long mandibles, which it uses to drag prey into its mouth. It usually attacks by lunging or biting, using its huge bulk to force its prey into a corner, where it can trap and devour it. * Appears in: Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. ===Sliding Worm=== Gravedigger's offspring. Usually found near a water source, they will latch onto their prey and suck its blood. They are also found in the hospital. * Appears in: Resident Evil 3. ==Resident Evil Code: Veronica== ===Albinoid=== <!-- Unsourced image removed: --> An Albinoid is an experimental B.O.W. that was created in Rockfort Island by performing gene manipulation with an infant salamander and infecting it with the T-Virus. The creature has the ability to manipulate electricity and shock its prey. An Albinoid has a quick growth rate, able to grow from an infant to an adult in ten hours. The adult Albinoid is bigger and has a more powerful electric charge than the infant. * Appears in: Resident Evil: Code Veronica. ===Ant=== A small insect that poses little threat, although they still carry the T-Veronica virus and attack in swarms if their home is invaded. They are all slowly dying because their queen has died. * Appears in: Resident Evil: Code Veronica. ===Bandersnatch=== <!-- Unsourced image removed: --> A Bandersnatch is an experimental B.O.W. that was designed within the Rockfort Island military training facility. The creature got its name from the bandersnatch. The Bandersnatch was designed to be a Tyrant-class weapon with greater adaptability and cheaper cost. It has a flexible body, capable of withstanding sustained punishment, and a single massive arm which it can stretch great distances to attack its prey, or to jump from one point to another. * Appears in: Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Resident Evil Survivor 2. ===Gulp Worm=== <!-- Unsourced image removed: --> The Gulp Worm is a common earthworm infected with the T-Virus. It hunts through the use of its highly sensitive exterior, by feeling vibrations emitted through sound and during movement. If it senses prey, the Gulp Worm will launch its considerable mass towards its target, generally knocking it to the ground, or consuming it whole. The Gulp Worm is very similar to the Grave Digger, although it does not possess the latter's large mandibles. It is encountered twice at the Umbrella Corporation's prison facility on Rockfort Island in Resident Evil Code: Veronica. * Appears in: Resident Evil: Code Veronica. ===Infected Bat=== The Infected Bat is a large vampire bat infected with the T-Virus, seen inside the cathedral in Umbrella's Management Training Facility. There were also infected bats in Rockfort Island during the viral outbreak, but these showed no sign of increased size and could be easily deterred by light. * Appears in: Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil Code: Veronica. ===Mutant Steve=== Steve Burnside was a captive on Rockfort Island who eventually escaped to Antarctica with the help of Claire Redfield. After Alexia injected Steve with the T-Veronica Virus he severely mutated and began to attack Claire. Steve regained part of his original personality and saved her from Alexia's tentacles. A fatal blow afterwards caused Steve to turn back into a human, but he died shortly afterwards. Albert Wesker took Steve's corpse to study the T-Veronica Virus and possibly revive Steve, although this was probably a failure, due to the fact that Wesker needed a Las Plagas (Resident Evil 4) sample in order to revive Umbrella. * Appears in Resident Evil Code: Veronica. ===Nosferatu=== <!-- Unsourced image removed: --> Nosferatu was once Alexander Ashford, the father of Alexia and Alfred Ashford, who had been used in an experiment with the T-Veronica virus by his own children. They considered Alexander a failure of the Ashford family (one of the three founding families of Umbrella), and showed no remorse in using their father as a test subject for Alexia's T-Veronica virus. Alexander, due to the T-Veronica virus, had mutated into the creature known as Nosferatu. His skin had discolored into a greenish-gray, and had a blindfold over his eyes, which had been surgically removed due to deterioration from the mutation. His heart (after being released) is exposed. His hands are shackled behind his body. His main mutations are massive tendrils sprouting from his back, and his ability to produce toxic gas clouds from his open wound. * Appears in: Resident Evil: Code Veronica. ===Parasite=== A parasite planted by a moth that bursts from a zombie's chest and latches onto its victim's back. When a zombie is shot, a parasite sometimes leaves their host's chest cavity and lands on the player's back. It can survive for a while after the host is dead and can attack by grappling their prey. It is also poisonous. * Appears in: Resident Evil: Code Veronica. ===Tentacle=== A group of large, mutated plant vines which extend throughout the Umbrella Corporation's Antarctic base, and are controlled by Alexia Ashford. The tentacles possess great speed and strength, being fast enough to catch up to Steve Burnside and Claire Redfield's fleeing snowmobile in Antarctica, and strong enough to deliver a devastating blow to Steve's mutant form. * Appears in: Resident Evil: Code Veronica. ==Resident Evil Zero== ===Mimicry Marcus (or Leech Zombie)=== <!-- Unsourced image removed: --> Leeches spawned by the original Queen Leech created by James Marcus, merged with the Progenitor Virus are increasingly aggressive. They also seem to possess a collective intelligence, and often act as a single entity. When a large enough brood of leeches come together, they assemble into a humanoid form, named Mimicry Marcus due to its tendency to take on the shape of James Marcus. Its limbs can extend to strike at targets. If it grabs a hold of a target it will soak it with acid. It can survive even after having its head, torso, and arms completely destroyed. In doing so, it will swell to an enormous size, back the character into a corner, and explode causing a phenomenal amount of damage. * Appears in: Resident Evil 0. ===Queen Leech=== <!-- Commented out because image was deleted: --> The Resident Evil Zero final boss was basically a giant humanoid mound of sentient leeches. It had control over all other leeches in the Training Facility. In its first form, it attacks by hitting, grabbing, or throwing a character. After enough damage is given it mutates slightly, giving it more attack power and defense. After enough damage it is rendered unconscious and gives up the silver and gold keys that open the blast doors covering the emergency exit shaft. The queen leech has a second form in which it loses most of its human form to become a massive green creature with multiple tentacles and a massive flower-like organ in its back, which continually secretes acid. In that form, it has two main attacks, in which it rams the player character and spews acid from its flower-like organ. It is also invulnerable to all weapons and can only be killed by opening the four emergency helipad shutters to let in sunlight, whose ultraviolet radiation passes through its cells, burning them with a high degree of proficiency, making it highly unsuitable for general use as a biological weapon. Upon the sunlight consuming its body, it was terminated by Billy Coen. James Marcus * Appears in: Resident Evil 0. ===Eliminator=== The Eliminator is a primate-based B.O.W. and one of several early prototype weapons developed exclusively by Dr. James Marcus during the final test phases of the T-Virus capabilities as a weapon, but before the selection of a specific carrier for the strain. Developed alongside the Eliminator were the Lurker and Plague Crawler, further displaying Marcus' fascination with the use of unlikely subjects as deadly weapons. Primates infected with the T-Virus strain exhibited rapid development of excess muscle tissue, resulting in visible tearing to the subject's skin. Further exposure caused a rapid increase in strength, agility, stamina and aggression, resulting in a deadly and efficient killer. It is believed that these could be the creatures briefly referred to in the "Keeper's Diary" document in the original Resident Evil, though they are never encountered in that game. Although initially deemed a successful product, the Eliminator was found to have undergone significant decline in overall intelligence, which was supposed to be its greatest asset to Umbrella's B.O.W. program. Mass-production of the Eliminator was cancelled and only a handful of specimens preserved for further testing and general research. Dr. Marcus instead turned his attention to the potential that human subjects presented as T-Virus hosts, later unwittingly providing William Birkin and Albert Wesker with the first scraps of information pertaining to the creation of the Tyrant-class B.O.W. * Appears in: Resident Evil 0. <!-- Unsourced image removed: --> ===Plague Crawler=== The Plague Crawler is one of the bio-weapons created from James Marcus' early experiments with the T-Virus, along with the Eliminators and Lurkers. They were created by manipulating the genes of several bugs into one organism and then implanting the virus. A Plague Crawler is two meters long in size and attacks its prey with large pincers. They were considered unfit for heavy combat due to their lack of intelligence and were disposed of. However, a few of the specimens survived and managed to procreate outside unnoticed, even as far afield as Raccoon City itself, as seen in the first RE:Outbreak sceario (when played on hard mode they replace zombies in the 'alley'). * Appears in: Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil: Outbreak. ===Lurker=== The Lurker is one of the first bio-weapons created from James Marcus' early experiments with the Progenitor Virus along with the Eliminators and Plague Crawlers. It is an amphibian frog that has grown to large proportions. Its eyes have devolved greatly from the mutation, but this is compensated with improved hearing senses and a strong body that is almost impervious to bullets, yet significantly weak to knifing attacks. They attack with sharp piercing tongues and can swallow a human body whole. However the mutation showed no increase in intelligence and research on them was abandoned, since their main trait, randomly attacking all moving objects, was of little interest to the advance of B.O.W.s. They were also very easily scared off as a single bullet was all that was needed to drive them back into the water. * Appears in: Resident Evil 0. ===Leech=== <!-- Unsourced image removed: --> There are two kind of infected leeches through the Resident Evil story lines. The first variant is the one spawned by the Queen Leech, the reborn James Marcus, which features a notable increase in aggressiveness and size, in addition to a strong communal hive mentality and the capability to bind together to form the Mimicry Marcus enemy. These leeches, in fact, are infected with the Progenitor Virus-borne strain of T-Virus, and should not be confused with the other kind. The second kind, conversely, is featured in Resident Evil: Outbreak, in the "The Hive" scenario. These leeches are far more dependent on blood, are smaller, infected with another strain of the T-Virus, and are unable to bind themselves in the same manner as the REØ leeches. Yet, when attacking a person in one of the rooms of the Raccoon Hospital, they inflict Bleeding status, and can be distracted with transfusion bloodpacks. In response to their inability to become a single, communal creature, they can attack in large herds and consume their victim(s) with sheer numbers, transforming him or her into the Leech Man. * Appears in: Resident Evil 0, Resident Evil: Outbreak and Resident Evil Outbreak File #2. ===Centurion=== An enlarged and genetically mutated centipede that's well over 30 feet tall. Unlike most creatures infected with the T-virus, the appearance of the Centurion is similar to that of a regular centipede, save for the colossal size. The Centurion, like many other creatures in the series, was an accidental creation of the T-virus outbreak. * Appears in: Resident Evil 0. ===Stinger=== A massive scorpion encountered during the Ecliptic Express incident in Resident Evil: Zero, in which it breached the ceiling of the train's bar and confronted Billy Coen or Rebecca Chambers. In either case, it had little means of attack other than merely ramming its prey, using its pincers or stinging with its tail. It possesses an armored carapace that shields it from all harm, making it all but invulnerable unless shot directly in the head. Appears in: Resident Evil 0."Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles" ==Resident Evil: Dead Aim== ===Glimmer=== <!-- Unsourced image removed: --> The Glimmer is a Hunter-class variant B.O.W. that was created entirely by accident. These creatures possess over 20 eyes atop their flat heads, which glow in the dark. They first appeared in the sub-levels of an Umbrella Corporation waste disposal facility in the Atlantic, and were named "Glimmers" by the facility's maintenance personnel. They are extremely fast, their multiple glowing eyes leaving a blur effect as they move. * Resident Evil: Dead Aim. ===Nautilus & the Torpedo Kids=== The Nautilus is a failed experiment that was supposed to be disposed of in Umbrella's island facility. They quickly reproduced and started infesting the underwater areas of the facility. Their offspring, dubbed Torpedo Kids due to their shape and behavior, lived and grew in the water where they also would remain once they became fully grown Nautiluses. * Appears in Resident Evil: Dead Aim. ===Pluto=== Pluto is the result of massive experimentation upon a human subject by Umbrella. The project involves the removal of the eyeballs and the use of muscle enhancers. The subject, known only as condemned criminal "a", gained a massive amount of weight, and adapted to his blindness with an enhanced sense of hearing. In the "Experiment 'a' Log," it's author writes, "It recognizes precisely where a sound originates and its distance from that sound." The author later states in his log that Pluto escapes, suspending the project. Pluto is a massive, Tyrant-like monstrosity, whose height and weight easily dwarf that of Bruce McGivern's. His eye sockets are no longer visible, and his left hand has mutated into a strange, mouth-like appendage. Considering his massive girth, Pluto is surprisingly very fast, capable of dashing at Bruce when discovering him. Pluto can be defeated by quietly walking and using a silenced handgun. His weak point is his exposed brain, which will fall out of his skull upon being shot enough, dangling from its flimsy spinal cord. When the spinal cord snaps, Pluto's brain falls to the ground, and he is defeated. *Appears in Resident Evil: Dead Aim. ===Queen Bee=== The Queen Bee is exactly what her title entails: A queen bee blown up to terrifying proportions. While it is considered a boss creature, the Queen Bee does very little attacking. She merely sends out smaller wasps, and only attacks when Bruce comes too close. The bee's size makes her immobile, making her an easy target for either the grenade launcher or the assault rifle. *Appears in Resident Evil: Dead Aim. ==Resident Evil Outbreak Series== ===Regis Licker=== <!-- Unsourced image removed: --> The Regis Licker or "Suspendead" is a Crimson Head in an early stage of further mutation. The Regis Licker is still humanoid in appearance and possesses many traits not common to Lickers, such as eyes and a lack of exposed brain tissue. The Regis Licker suspends itself from ceilings by its hind feet, lashing out at potential victims with its claws and elongated tongue; unlike the Lickers, the Regis Licker uses its tongue as a whip instead of a spear, strangling or lashing its victims to death. Throughout the entire period of the outbreak, only one Regis Licker was ever reported, in the lobby of the Apple Inn during the evacuation of the underpass region. * Appears in: Resident Evil Outbreak, Resident Evil Outbreak File #2. ===Green Zombie=== <!-- Unsourced image removed: --> The Green Zombie is another 'irregular' created when a T-Virus infected host somehow becomes further infested with mutated plant growth. So far, the Green Zombie has only appeared in the densely vegetated Arklay Forest during the "Flashback" scenario in Resident Evil Outbreak File #2, and is suspected to have come into contact with an enormous infected plant, referred to as 'Dorothy', located at an abandoned hospital on the outskirts of Raccoon City. The Green Zombies are suspected to have been members of a botanist team that had recently reported the discovery of a previously unknown species of plant life in the Arklay region. Not releasing specifics regarding their find, the team had wanted to be certain that rival elements within related fields of research wouldn't be given the opportunity to steal credit for their newfound discovery. The team mysteriously disappeared following a sudden loss of communications, although no distress call was received, and the nature of their extended research would have made prolonged study and subsequent encampment a probability. Investigation into the matter was considered to be of low priority. The Green Zombie behaves in much the same manner as its regular counterparts, as the plant growth infesting the creature seems to have had no obvious effect on the T-Virus strain, although the Green Zombie appears to have highly toxic spores coursing through its bloodstream, and will release said spores into the surrounding environment when physically harmed. * Appears in: Resident Evil Outbreak File #2. ===Axe Man (AL)=== The Axe Man is the former head of the hospital in the Arklay region where Resident Evil: Outbreak File #2 takes place, named Albert Lester. He was devastated by the death of his wife, Dorothy, and eventually returned to the abandoned hospital. There he found the remains of his wife and a decorative plant that had become infected with the T-Virus. The much-enhanced plant devoured the corpse, and Lester started viewing the monstrosity as Dorothy's resurrection, feeding it with Arklay wildlife. Then, after Dorothy grew too much, he started wandering into the woods, luring hikers and campers to the abandoned hospital, then proceeded to systematically stalk and kill them with an axe, feeding the corpses to Dorothy. After a time, he noticed his body had been changed by the virus; he no longer felt hunger or thirst, and even though a camper managed to shoot him, he barely felt pain. Eventually, he ran across the survivors of Raccoon City and led them to the same trap, though they managed to fend him off and destroy Dorothy. After collapsing, the plant released Dorothy's cadaver, and Lester became unhinged at the sight, as the hospital crumbled on him. * Appears in: Resident Evil Outbreak #2. ===Zombie Lioness (Feral)=== The type of zombie lions encountered most frequently in the Raccoon City Zoo during the "Wild Things" scenario are lionesses imported from Africa. * Appears in: Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 ===Zombie Lion (Stalker or Max)=== <!-- Unsourced image removed: --> The male zombie lion, known as Stalker or Max, attacks in ways that are similar to the female lions previously encountered in the Raccoon City Zoo. * Appears in: Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 <!-- Unsourced image removed: --> ===Zombie Elephant (Titan or Oscar)=== The zombie elephant, known as Titan or Oscar, will terrorize the player throughout the Raccoon City Zoo during the "Wild Things" scenario. The zombie elephant is the main boss of the "Wild Things" scenario, unless it has been previously killed or trapped at the Elephant Stage. If this is the case, then the Stalker becomes the opponent. * Appears in: Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 ===Zombie Hyena=== Zombie hyenas appear in a few places inside the Raccoon City Zoo during the "Wild Things" scenario. Although they behave and attack just like the zombie dogs/Cerberus, they react to human presence with less speed. * Appears in: Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 ===Horn Bill=== <!-- Unsourced image removed: --> These exotic birds with bright feathers have become infected with the T-virus and now seek to attack and mutilate the populace. Horn Bills fly overhead, looking for their prey. They appear in the Raccoon City Zoo during the "Wild Things" scenario. * Appears in: Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 ===Flying Bug=== Flying Bugs are tiny, nearly invisible insects that are mainly detectable when flying in a swarm near a Rafflesia plant during the "Wild Things" scenario. * Appears in: Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 ===Giant Leech=== <!-- Unsourced image removed: --> This enemy is in the underpass entrance of the Raccoon City Hospital during the "The Hive" scenario. Apparently the Giant Leech lived in the underpass entrance of the hospital for years and grew to a huge size and created an increasing amount of offspring. * Appears in: Resident Evil Outbreak and Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 ===Ivy Plant=== Long green ivy that usually extends from the base of a flower box in the Terrarium Dome located inside the Raccoon City Zoo during the "Wild Things" scenario, or from a low crack in the wall at the abandoned hospital during the "Flashback" scenario. These sentient green vines prefer to grow in darkened corners, making them difficult to spot. * Appears in: Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 ===Evil Shade=== Large orange bulbs that grow on vines, found entangled in and around the hospital in the Arklay Mountains during the "Flashback" scenario. They are stationary and emit a poisonous cloud. * Appears in: Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 ===Dorothy=== An ordinary plant in the Arklay Hospital that became infected with the virus and began to mutate. The Huge Plant is encountered during the "Flashback" scenario. It attacked Lester, the hospital director, and devoured the corpse of his wife, Dorothy. The plant grew whenever it consumed living flesh, and has grown to a monstrous size, extending its vines throughout the entire building. * Appears in: Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 ===Drainer=== A hanging plant bulb that appears to grow from the giant plant located in the Arklay Forest Hospital during the "Flashback" scenario. They will extend down and latch around the throat of the character, attempting to choke the life out of them. * Appears in: Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 ===Twisters=== The Twister is a large tentacle that extends from the water below the suspension bridge, and in the grass in front of the Arklay Hospital in the "Elimination 2" scanaria of Resident Evil: Outbreak File #2. *Appears in: Resident Evil: Outbreak File #2 <!-- Unsourced image removed: --> ===Mega Bite=== Fleas mutated to freakishly large sizes, they are found in the Raccoon City Subway during the "Underbelly" scenario. They will attempt to latch onto player and suck their blood. Its name is a pun of a computer memory measure (Megabyte) * Appears in: Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 ===Giga Bite=== The queen Mega Bite has grown nearly as large as a subway tunnel. The Giga Bite is encountered during the "Underbelly" scenario. Its name is a pun of a computer memory measure (Gigabyte, which is far more larger than the Megabyte, explaining its size compared to the mega bites) * Appears in: Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 ===Nyx=== The Nyx Bio Organic Weapon was a prototype stored in Raccoon City. After the Raccoon City Outbreak reached critical levels, Umbrella began pulling its resources out in preparation for Mission Code XX. Rodriguez tried to smuggle Nyx out of Raccoon for sale to the U.S., but the helicopter that was intended to transport Nyx out of the city was attacked by an Umbrella executive with a Stinger missile. While the pilot managed to avoid the missile, the sealed capsule containing the Nyx organism fell into an overpass. Nyx, freed from its restraints, displayed its truly frightening powers by attacking a group of U.B.C.S. and a while later the T-0400TP, absorbing them into its own gelatinous body. Additionally, being nothing more than a gelatinous organism, it was immensely resilient and exhibited great strength. Ultimately, it was felled by a group of survivors, who detonated the charge inside the corpse of the Tyrant, bringing the Nyx to its knees and rendering it vulnerable, then obliterating it's core with a nearby rocket launcher. * Appears in: Resident Evil Outbreak File #2 ===Leech Man=== <!-- Commented out because image was deleted: --> A Leech Man is created when a massive amount of leeches in Raccoon Hospital attach themselves to a dead human. The leeches take control over the host and control it like a puppet, chasing and feeding on any living humans or blood supplies. It can move freely between any room by using the ventilation shafts on the ceiling in rooms of the hospital to find blood. The leeches that cover the Leech Man render him invulnerable to gunfire. The Leech Man is most susceptible to heat. After you kill the 1st Leech Man, if one of your team mates was killed, they become the new leech man. * Appears in: Resident Evil Outbreak ==Miscellaneous== ===Cleaners=== The "Cleaner" is a humanoid creature encountered throughout Resident Evil: Survivor. Whilst they are members of the elite "Umbrella Trashsweeper" unit, their identities or species is never specified. The unit is dispatched to areas where a possible breach in security or potential incident may invite unwanted attention. Unlike the U.B.C.S., or the U.S.S., the U.T.'s sole operational task is the complete annihilation of any and all evidence regarding Umbrella's illicit activities. This not only includes buildings and evidence, but also personnel believed to be involved. The team is led by an anonymous officer who provides information and operational orders to each team. The mystery surrounding the species classification of the U.T.'s stems not only from their tendency to shriek and scream in an odd manner when provoked, but also their ability to contort and twist their bodies at unnatural angles to avoid attack. They appear shorter than the average human. Further still, the U.T.'s have unusually long arms and never appear to speak or communicate with one another during battle. It is unknown if the U.T.'s are human, animal or hybrid. Each trooper carries an assault rifle and wears a black hazmat suit complete with breathing apparatus and infra-red goggles. After death, a U.T.'s corpse will dissolve. *Appears in: Resident Evil Survivor ===Dr. Cameron=== When the outbreak in Raccoon City began, Dr. Cameron was stranded in the city. Eventually, she was infected with the T-Virus, but managed to avoid the fate that her colleagues suffered by injecting herself with an experimental serum she had been working on. It stopped her becoming undead, but had the unexpected side effect of turning her into a monster. Cameron was able to infect other creatures with her cells. Once inside the body, she could control the subject's mind, either maintaining their appearance, or transforming into her monstrous form. Her mind was left fully intact. When a U.B.C.S. team was sent in to retrieve his or her research data, Cameron killed them off one by one. Eventually, she infected one of the last soldiers, Roger, and escaped the city with the teams supervisor, Klaus. But she turned on Klaus, impaling him with her tentacles and revealing her true form to him. *Appears in: Biohazard 4D Executer ==Trivia== * The Cerberus, Crow, Zombie, and Tyrant all serve as Jill Valentine's "backup" in Marvel vs. Capcom 2. * The Cerberus appears as an enemy in a level of Capcom's Dreamcast shooter Cannon Spike. * In the video game Breath of Fire 3, there is an enemy in Caer Xhan that is also called "Plant 42." Resident Evil series es:Biological Organic Weapon fr:Créatures de Resident Evil it:B.O.W. pt:Lista de criaturas de Resident Evil All content in the above text box is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license Version 4 and was originally sourced from https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?diff=prev&oldid=149049161.
