The Purple Dragons is the toughest street gang on the East Side and in every version they appear, the t. The Ninja Turtles fight them in the first issue of the original comic. The [[1984]] TMNT comics is the only TMNT version where the Purple Dragons do not work for the [[Shredder]]. In the [[1987]] TMNT cartoon seriesThe Shredder (villian)|The Shredder]]. In the [[Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (1987 series)|1987 cartoon]] and the Archie TMNT adventures comics, the tTurtles save the Channel 6 news reporter [[April O'Neil]] from a street gang with the humans that Shredder will later transform into [[Bebop_(Ninja Turtles)|Bebop]] and [[Rocksteady_(Ninja Turtles)|Rocksteady]]. The; however this gang is, sent out by the Shredder and the name of the gang is never told, but is supposed to be the Purple Dragons, is not named. In the [[2003]] TMNT cartoon the gang leader of the Purple Dragons is [[Hun_(villain)|Hun]], Shredder's right-hand-man. The Purple Dragons never appeared in the movies.
