I tend to think the Fray originated in 1995, not 1998 as stated.
I joined forum in the spring of 1996, and at that point it was thriving.

I added the archived threads. Yes, they are archived versions of discussions on the site before the redesign. My apologies for not designating them clearly. There are other archives out there, btw.

I'd like to see some mention of the mercenary navigation limitations on the fray site.  Specifically, 
athe page rebuild (andcomplete with new ad) necessary to view ...every  ...single  ...posting, rather then any mechanism to view the full content of all posts in a thread at once.
