==Early years==
Herbert was born in [[South London]] in March 1974 and began his [[martial arts]] training in 1984 under local club instructor Christopher Iron as part of the ISK association of Sensei Pauline Laville Bindra (8th Dan''dan''). It was during the mid-1990s that Herbert became a student of Master Enoeda at his Marshall Street dojo in the [[Soho]] district of London.
