He has been working in the adult film industry for most of his working life, starting as a runner at the age of 14 and moving on to work across a range of production roles within the industry. He has studied film both at further and higher educational level being awarded various qualifications in Media Production as well as achieving a [[Postgraduate Certificate]] in Screen Arts. It won a special mention at Glimmer as well as winning Best Film and Best [[Cinematography]] at [[No Limits International Student Film Festival]]. Boy created controversy and sparked an on-line opposition campaign because of its provocative narrative. Joe completed his second UKFC short film Veteran, which he wrote and directed as part of the Digital Shorts slate 2009 and his third UKFC film Junk, part of the 2010 slate, which has been shortlisted for the 2011 [[Iris Prize]]. Both films are currently entering national and international festivals. He was also selected as one of eight participants in Screen Merseysides'Yorkshires high level bespoke training and development programme, Super 8.
