==Slowness==

WikiTree is currently not hosted by the [[Wikimedia Foundation]]. Instead, it is hosted on private servers.  The service can run quite slowly, with the home page taking up to a minute to load. In addition, when a large family tree is involved, there can be delays of many seconds between page loads as the family tree graphs within the articles are constructed.

WikiTree made the front page of [[Digg]] on [[March 06]] [[2006]] and its servers appear to have 
gonewent down in response to the flood of traffic (see the [[Digg Effect]]). The server has been subsequently upgraded.
