Richard Kent has coached for 16 seasons in the collegiate ranks of American football. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from [[Appalachian State University]] and Master's degree from [[Clemson University]]. While coaching in college Kent's teams 
reachieved 2 FBS Bowl Games and, 5 national playoffs appearances and an undefeated season. From 1991-2000 he helped his teams to a record of 88-25-1. Kent has since coached Professional Football in [[NFL Europe]], the [[Canadian Football League]] and [[United Football League (2009–2012)|United Football League]].

Kent joined the football staff at [[Clemson University|Clemson]] as a graduate assistant in 1985.
