According to the Australian Paralympic Commitee, cycling is one of Australia's most successful Paralympic sports.  Australia's medal tally, since cycling was included in the Paralymp
oic Program in the {{w|1988 Summer Paralympics}} stands at 28 gold, 20 silver and 22 bronze medals.  

The team, announced at the Adelaide Super-Drome, includes Nigel Barley, {{w|Western Australia}}; Carol Cooke, {{w|Victoria}}; Michael Gallagher, Victoria; Alexandra Green, {{w|New South Wales}} (NSW); Felicity Johnson, {{w|South Australia}} (SA); Simone Kennedy, NSW; Bryce Lindores, {{w|Queensland}}; Kieran Modra, SA; David Nicholas, Queensland; Jayme Paris, NSW; Susan Powell, {{w|Australian Capital Territory}}; Stuart Tripp, Victoria; Mark Jamieson, {{w|Tasmania}}, pilot for Bryce Lindores; Scott McPhee, SA, pilot for Kieran Modra; and Stephanie Morton, SA, pilot for Felicity Johnson.
