According to the Australian Paralympic Commitee, cycling is one of Australia's most successful Paralympic sports.  Australia's medal tally, since cycling was included in the Paralympic Program in the {{w|1988 Summer Paralympics}}
, stands at 28 gold, 20 silver and 22 bronze medals.
