The novel follows main character Lemuel Gulliver a(contracted; show full)d the people on the ship. Gulliver lost his weapons and wanted to get them back. He was sent by a surgeon to go on the ship to be able to help. Gulliver didn’t want to travel but he had to because he was a surgeon and he was forced to. Gulliver travelled to 9 different places. The travel begins with a short preamble in which  [[Lemuel Gulliver|Gulliver]] gives a brief outline of his life and history before his voyages.  Gulliver loved his wife but loved the sea more. His family wasn’t on the ship with him.
Gulliver left the sea to go south on a ship but instead got shipwrecked and ended up in a land called Lilliput.
