During [[World War I]], he served in the [[United States Army Air Corps]]. He founded, in 1921, the ''Equitable Equipment Company''. From [[1941]] to [[1946]], he serves as Assistant District Personnel Officer for the [[United States naval districts|Eighth Naval District]]. From [[1950]] to [[1958]], he is Chairman of the Mississippi River Bridge Authority and organizes the construction of the [[Greater New Orleans Bridge]].
