'''Young Turks''' is an American post-hardcore band based in Eden Prairie, Minnesota formed in 2010. The band currently consists of lead vocalist Rylan Stewart, unclean vocalist August Jenks, lead guitarist Jonathon Evans, rhythm guitarist Ethan Meyer, and bass guitarist Kevin Francis. 
After the band parted ways with former vocalist Alex Moore, the band signed a recording contract with Fearless and Old Friends Records and release two studio albums, ''Closure'' (2014) and ''Canvases'' (2015). The band has toured with bands such as A Lot Like Birds, Hands Like Houses, Lower Than Atlantic, I the Mighty, Brigades, Too Close to Touch, A Skylit Drive, Dayshell, and The Static Jacks. The band toured on the 2015 Vans Warped Tour.

Young Turks are prominently known for their post-hardcore and experimental rock sound. The band have incorporated several genres and styles of music in their albums including funk, jazz, blue-eyed soul, contemporary R&B, and math rock. In 2015, they were named one of the most influential rock bands by Pitchfork.

The album was recorded throughout late September and October 2015 at Rest Stop Recording Studios in Santa Monica, California. The album was produced by Ricky Reed and Mike Crossy as well as self-production from Rylan Stewart. It was lead by the single "Satellite" released on November 20, 2015. The second single "Didn't I Get the Message" was released on December 4, 2015.
